Bulletin Notices for August 12, 2018

“Encouragements” sermon series:  Over the next four Sundays, the Epistle lessons come to us from the book of Ephesians. In those readings, St. Paul is inspired by the Holy Spirit to share words of encouragement as we live this life of faith, walking in the way of the Lord. All are welcome to come and be encouraged!

August 12 – “Smelling Good”       August 19 – “Living Wise”

August 26 – “Taking Your Place”       September 2 – “Armoring Up”

Wednesday Night Worship and Prayer Ministry:  Prayer at 6:30 pm in the Upper Conference Room – Worship at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. Our topic for worship throughout the month of August will be “Heroes of the Faith”. Our hero this coming week: Thomas!

Confirmation Orientation Meeting:   Parents/Guardians and youth who are entering 7th an 8th grade are invited to gather on Wednesday, August 15th at 6:00 pm to receive all the information for this year’s Confirmation learning opportunities.  If you are unable to attend the meeting on the 15th, there will be a make-up meeting on Sunday, August 19th following worship.  Please contact Pastor Manor with any questions.

Rally Day / Sunday School Kick-Off – Sunday, September 9th!   All are invited to this exciting morning at St. Paul’s as we kick off the fall schedule of worship and education. The day will include the installation of our Education leaders and the first Sunday of Bible study and activities for kids, youth, and adults.  Look for Sunday school registration materials to be available soon!

Sunday School Leaders Needed:  When little ones are brought to the Lord to be baptized here at St. Paul’s, we as the church family promise “to do everything within our power to support these parents in their ministry, and in loving and life-giving ways to foster their little one’s growth in faith.” As we strive to fulfill those promises, the Board of Education is looking for volunteers to serve as leaders in our Sunday school this year. All the resources are provided for you to share God’s Word with the kids and youth. Our goal is to have multiple leaders for each age group, so no one has to commit to leading every Sunday. Whether you’ve led Sunday school in the past (maybe even a long time ago!), or you’ve never done it but are interested, we’d love to talk to you about leading this year. Please contact Pastor Manor or a member of the Board of Education if you have any questions or to express your interest in leading this year.

PLEASE NOTIFY Cheryl Lowman at cheryl.cassady@yahoo.com as soon as possible if you have been trained to use our church defibrillator located to the right as you exit the narthex.  Per our recent Usher’s meeting, the idea of a handy list of those trained was suggested.  If you are trained and are willing, we would love to put your name on this very important list.  Thank you very much!

Christmas in July?………. no, but it is a reminder that the annual LAS Christmas Fair is Saturday, December 1st.  Please think of what you can do or make to support the fair.  Donations of ornaments, knitted/sewn goods, craft items, art work, baked goods, candy, etc… would be appreciated.  Thank you, Ladies Aid Society

REMINDER: Sewing Circle will meet Thursday, August 23rd, at 7:00pm. Thank you, Tami Weeks
