SONS OF THUNDER: the boys are thankful for the church family’s participation in the monthly bottle drive event!  We will be collecting on February 28th between services.  Please rinse your plastic bottles and cans (no glass bottles) before you drop them off at St. Paul’s.  Thank you, Sons of Thunder Team.

PRAYERS FOR THE BOLDT FAMILIES…Helene Boldt, daughter-in-law of members, Carol and Burt Boldt, is experiencing a life threatening disease and is need of a live kidney donor. DAUGHTERS OF FAITH will be Zooming our meetings.  The next meeting will be Sunday, February 28th, from 2:00 – 3:30pm. We will continue meeting through zoom on the fourth Sunday of each month from 2:00 – 3:30pm. The Fruit of the Spirit we will be studying is Gentleness.  I look forward to seeing each of you face-to-face. And, of course, invite your friends to join us. I will be contacting each young lady before we meet.  Thank you, Judy Byrne.

THE FOLLOWING document describes the purchase of our church back in 1865.  It was transcribed and sent to St. Paul’s from a member of the Barkhamsted Historical Society………..

Baptist Ecclesiastical Society

August 5, 1865

Met according to previous notice

after some remarks of the chairman

Hart Doolittle Daniel Young &others

respecting the moving of the church to

New Hartford & for that purpose deeding

the same to Hart Doolittle and after

reading the following preamble [and]

resolution presented to the SocietyJ

Whereas the Baptist Ecclesiastical Society

of Pleasant Valley has become weak

and wholy [sic] unable to support the gospel and

on oweing [sic] Hart Doolittle $875.00 by note

and feeling that it is expeditious to move

their house of worship to New Hartford

for the more special benefit and accomo

dation of said society. Now therefore

resolved that we empower and intrust [sic]

the Trustees of said society to give Hart

Doolittle a deed of said house and all

that appertains thereto with the lot of

land on which it stands provided

he shall cause the same house to be so

moved to said New Hartford as [aforesaid]

and give up and cancil [sic] the suit

in which he holds against the said

over  [second side]

Society. Said house if moved

as aforesaid is permanently

to be used as a house and place

of public worship for the

Baptist denomination.

On motion by Martin Hurlbut

And second by Julius Daniels

Voted unanimously to instruct

The Trustees of said Society to deed

The house to Hart Doolittle as per
