Church Planning/Vision meeting   Sunday, October 15th, @12Noon.  Light lunch provided.  All welcomed.

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.  It is time to pack shoeboxes!    *Shoebox gifts are a way to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.”  Our goal is to donate 100 boxes.  Last year our boxes went to Children in Malawi!    * “You can Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your shoebox by making the $9 shipping donation online. Just print and attach your unique shipping label to your shoebox gift.”  Cardboard boxes are available in the Narthex.  Please consider buying a plastic shoebox that also becomes part of the gift! Choral Ensemble…We’re looking for male and female voices to sing a special Reformation piece in worship here at St. Paul’s on Sunday, October 29th – Reformation Sunday. Please contact Ruth Yeadon with any questions. 

Festival Choir…All singers are welcome to join in this choir that will sing for Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve worship services. Rehearsals are offered throughout the week to accommodate people’s varying schedules. Festival choir singers are not expected to attend all rehearsals during the week – just when they are able. Rehearsals are held on Sundays from 9:10am – 9:30am, and from 12:00pm –12:30pm, and on Mondays at 6:45pm. If you have any questions, please contact Ruth Yeadon.

-    Hymn Sing with songs from the Reformation era

-    Activities for the kids

Who: You – your family – your friends and neighbors – our community.  

HANDS OF GRACE will be giving out about 75 Thanksgiving meals to our clients on November 21st!  The CT Food bank is providing turkeys, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, apples, butternut squash, stuffing and cranberry sauce.  Please consider adding any of the following items to enhance the meal………   

Canned French-style green beans
Cream of mushroom soup
Crispy Fried Onions
Creamed corn
Turkey gravy
Canned carrots
Canned peas
Canned pumpkin that is already spiced (only needs milk and eggs added)
Evaporated milk
Cake mix with frosting
Cookie mixes
Apple juice
Grape juice

You may leave the donations in the bins in the narthex or in the large blue bin in our lower fellowship hall.  Items are needed by Nov. 12th.  If you have any questions please speak to Leslie Denton, Pastor Mongeau or Denise Yoreo.  ALSO….. please consider coming to help distribute the meals at Hands of Grace on Tuesday Nov. 21st.   Any amount of time you can volunteer is appreciated.  Please RSVP your availability to help to Hands of Grace at 860-738-0299.

It's time to fill Shoe boxes to send to children around the world!  Shoe boxes and information is available in the Narthex. You may use any shoe box. Collection day is November 12th.   Our goal is to send 100 boxes!  If you have any questions, please speak to any Mission Board member.  Thank you in advance for your generosity!   Mission Board:  Denise Yoreo, Deb Burdick, Donna Eddy, Dave Hudon  

Since 1942, the LWML has affirmed each woman’s identity as a child of God and her relationship with Jesus Christ, encouraging and equipping Christian women to live out their lives in active mission ministries, and to support missions around the world through their sacrificial gifts of mites, tithes, offerings, and tireless service. Through their invitation to “come and see” what God has done for all people, countless neighbors from all walks of life have been reached and touched by the love of God in Christ Jesus. LWML Mites will be collected on Sundays throughout October.  Please bring the change and dollar bills from your Mite boxes and place them in the large mite box in the narthex in support of the 2016-18 LWML district and national Mite projects. Any questions can be directed to Deaconess Manor at deaconess.manor@gmail.com.  

The annual New England District LWML Retreat will be held Nov. 3-4 in Enfield, CT.  Please see the bulletin board in the coffee hour area for more information and registration forms.  

Altar Guild…is in need of volunteers to care for the Lord’s altar by setting up Holy Communion before worship and cleaning the communion ware after worship.  Training is provided.  Please contact Cynthia Boyle (860-738-2258) or Sally Wabrek (860-379-1959) if you are interested.
