TODAY we will have a Pastor Appreciation Special Coffee Hour for both Pastor Mandile and Pastor Mongeau!  This special time of Fellowship and Appreciation will take place following our worship service during the time that the Adult Sunday School usually takes place.  This is also Cheryl Lowman’s last Sunday and it will be a chance to say “Bye for now”.  Cheryl will be moving by two of her daughters and 11 grandchildren in the Saugerties, New York area.

DAUGHTERS OF FAITH will be meet today, October 29th from 1:00 – 2::30pm at the home of Judy Byrne. We will be starting our new book, JESUS SAID WHAT? Please take a look at the Daughters of Faith Bulletin board downstairs next to the children’s Sunday school room. Friends and family are always welcome. Please RSVP Judy.

  • Monetary donations to Operation Christmas Child are appreciated!  All donations made after 10/22 will be used for the shipping cost.  Please make donations payable to St Paul’s and designate to OCC.
  • Gospel Opportunity boxes can be made until November 20th.  National Shoebox Collection week is Nov 13-20.  We will be hosting the local drop off collection center at Hands of Grace.  Please see Denise Yoreo if you’d like to help.

Capstone Ministry

November 5th, Pastor Dan and Patty Schmelzer will visit.  Pastor Schmelzer will be preaching during our worship service and Patty will do a presentation at 10:30 during our education hour.  We will have a Potluck Brunch. Please bring a dish to share!

French fried onions

 VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!   The Board of Christian Education is looking for multiple congregation members to volunteer to sign up for teaching Children’s Sunday school. Volunteers will be on a rotating sign-up schedule. Slots are still available.   All curriculum and materials will be provided. Our meetings offer Bible study, prayer, and fellowship in a space where we can share our experiences, grow in faith and develop lasting friendships.

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID:  LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS:  The Farmington Valley Health District will be offering an eight-hour Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course here at St Paul’s over two evenings in September (the 12th and 19th, 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM).  MHFA teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults and youth. You’ll build skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to those who are struggling. You’ll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.  The Health District is offering this program at no cost to participants. HANDS OF GRACE is in need of the following food items:
Cans of Spaghettios and Beefaroni. Canned fruit: applesauce, peaches, pears, pineapple, etc. 64 oz. Bottles of juice:  Apple, Grape, Fruit Punch are preferred.  Thank you for your help providing food for our brothers and sisters in need.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY DAY is Sunday, September 10th.  First day of Sunday school is the following Sunday, September 17th

 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!   The Board of Christian Education is looking for multiple congregation members to volunteer to sign up for teaching Children’s Sunday school. Volunteers will be on a rotating sign-up schedule with the first available slot being Sunday, September 17th. All curriculum and materials will be provided. A sign-up sheet will be located in the narthex if you are willing to help fill this need. Please contact Erin Shimkus.

DAUGHTERS OF FAITH HAVE CHANGED!!   Daughters of Faith started five years ago as a mentoring and support group for our teenage girls. All our girls have graduated high school, and now we have a new venue that is welcoming women ages 18 – 100+. We meet on the last Sunday of the month from 1:00 – 2:30pm at the home of Judy Byrne. Our meetings offer Bible study, prayer, and fellowship in a space where we can share our experiences, grow in faith and develop lasting friendships. INTERESTED??? Please contact Judy.

WOMEN OF THE WORD will resume studying the book, TWELVE UNLIKELY HEROES, on Tuesday, September 12th from 1:00 – 2:30pm. Women of the Word meet on the second Tuesday of the month at the church. Lift up in prayer……Linda Sheffield’s brother, Lucian, passed away on Monday. Please keep their family in your prayers. The wake is from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, August 28 at Duksa funeral home 332 Burritt St., New Britain.  The funeral is at 9:30am on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain.  Cards may be sent to Linda at 56 Birdsview Ave., New Hartford, CT  06057.
