From Pastor Mandile…

LCMS STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY Luke 8:11 – “The seed is the word of God.” It all starts with the Word. “In the beginning … the Word was with God” (John 1:1). “He saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). “The word of our God will stand forever” (Is. 40:8). We never outgrow our need to hear the Word of God. We never achieve such greatness that we don’t need the blessings of God’s Word. Rather, the Christian life is one of always striving to conform our lives to God’s Word by living out the truth of our Baptism: that we are God’s children by the power of his Word.

EQUIPPING THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS… Issues, Etc. is a radio-talk show and podcast produced by Lutheran Public Radio in Collinsville, IL and hosted by LCMS Pastor Todd Wilken.  This week’s teachings include: How to Save the West; Finding a Therapist; “Luther’s Large Catechism with Annotations and Contemporary Applications;” 19th-Century Lutheran Theologian Wilhelm Loehe and more.  You can listen at your convenience at, the LPR mobile app and your favorite podcast provider.

INDIVIDUAL CUPS FOR THE LORD’S SUPPER…Beginning next Sunday, February 19th, you will notice a new setup for the Lord’s Supper. The individual cups will no longer be on the table on your way up to the altar. Instead, the individual cups will be distributed to you by one of the elders once you have come up and knelt at the altar rail. This change is for two reasons. First, we want to be hospitable to our guests who do not know our Communion practice. Second, we want to serve those who have difficulty walking by bringing Christ’s Blood to them when they are already at the altar rail. Pastor and the Board of Elders have prayed and discussed this change together. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Pastor Mandile or one of the Elders.
